Julia Murney, John Dossett and Mary Faber are among the cast members joining the previously announced Celia Keenan-Bolger in Playwrights Horizons' forthcoming world-premiere production of Saved. The new musical will begin previews on May 9 at the company's Mainstage Theater and open on June 3. Saved will be directed Gary Griffin The Color Purple and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo Jersey Boys.
In addition to Keenan-Bolger, Murney, Dossett and Faber, the cast of Saved will include Josh Breckenridge, Juliana Ashley Hansen, Curtis Holbrook, Van Hughes, Jason Michael Snow, Aaron Tveit, Emily Walton, and Daniel Zaitchik. One final addition to the cast will be announced in the coming weeks.
Saved has music and lyrics by Michael Friedman Gone Missing and book and lyrics by John Dempsey The Witches of Eastwick and Rinne Groff The Ruby Sunrise, based on the 2004 feature film written by Brian Dannelly and Michael Urban that starred Jena Malone, Mandy Moore, Mary-Louise Parker, Macauley Culkin, Eva Amurri and Martin Donovan.
Murney Lillian recently appeared on Broadway as Elphaba in Wicked, a role she played on national tour, and has appeared on Broadway in Lennon. off-Broadway credits include The Wild Party, Crimes of the Heart, A Class Act, Time and Again, First Lady Suite and The Vagina Monologues.
Dossett Pastor Skip earned a Tony nominations for his performance as Herbie in the 2003 revival of Gypsy and has appeared on Broadway in Mamma Mia!, The Constant Wife, Democracy, Dinner at Eight, Fifth of July, Mastergate, Prelude to a Kiss, An Almost Holy Picture and Ragtime.Off-Broadway credits include Dinner With Friends, Trudy Blue, Reckless, Moonshot and Cosmos, Dalton's Back, Sunshine, Empty Hearts, El Salvador, Childe Byron and The Diviners.
Faber Hilary Faye has appeared on Broadway in Avenue Q and off-Broadway in Floyd and Clea Under the Western Sky, Slut, Junie B. Jones and The Tutor. York Theatre. Regional credits include Princesses, Feeling Electric and A Christmas Carol.
Breckenridge Shane recently made his Broadway debut in The Ritz and has appeared in regional productions of Dreamgirls, For the Glory and Storyville. Hansen Lana was a finalist in the TV casting series Grease: You're the One That I Want and appeared in the national tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Her New York credits include I See London, I See France and Last Dance. Regional credits include Les Misérables, Beauty and the Beast, The Secret Garden and The Fantasticks.
Holbrook Roland is currently appearing in the Broadway musical Xanadu. Other Broadway credits include All Shook Up, The Boy From Oz, Taboo, Fosse and Footloose. Holbrook played Young Buddy in the Encores! production of Follies and appeared off-Broadway in Radiant Baby. He was a dancer in the film version of Hairspray.
Hughes Patrick has appeared in the Broadway and Las Vegas productions of Hairspray. Snow Zac has appeared in retional productions of The Pirates of Penzance, Beauty and the Beast, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Guys and Dolls, Crazy for You, Anything Goes and South Pacific.
Tveit Dean starred in Second Stage's recent production of Next to Normal and appeared on Broadway in Hairspray. He toured in Hairspray and Rent and starred in regional productions of The Three Musketeers and Calvin Berger. Walton Tia toured in A Christmas Carol and appeared in regional productions of The Sound of Music, Annie, The Music Man and My Favorite Year. Zaitchik Jesus/Mitch/Nurse has appeared off-Broadway in Topsy Turvy Mouse, Kimberly Akimbo, 365/365 and Deviant and in the Long Wharf Theatre production of Prayer for My Enemy.
The design team for Saved includes scenic designer Scott Pask, costume designer Jess Goldstein, lighting designer Donald Holder and sound designer Brian Ronan. Orchestrations are by Curtis Moore, the Music Director is Jesse Vargas and the Music Coordinator is John Miller.
